Baxter Healthcare Corporation
Baxter Healthcare Corporation is a global medical
products and services company that provides critical
therapies for patients' life-threatening conditions.
The company's products and services in blood
therapies, cardiovascular medicine, medication
delivery and renal therapy are used by health-care
providers and their patients over 100 countries.
Baxter is an industry leader with regards to their
Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) practice as
evidenced by their selection for the Dow Jones
Sustainability Group Index (DJSGI). Baxter is also a
key corporate member of CERES (non-profit
environmental consortium of institutions with
environmental interests), as well as a pilot company
for the Global Reporting Initiative's Sustainability
Reporting Guidelines.
Over the past ten years, key members of the Traver
Group team have played an important role in the
development of Baxter’s EHS IT system that has
helped Baxter establish and maintain its reputation
as a globally recognized leader in Environmental
Health and Safety affairs. This includes management
and IT consulting services, participating in global
rollouts of component applications as well as
assisting with coordination of vendor and contractor
resources.
Today, this system is used by Baxter EHS managers in
over 125 facilities in over 49 countries to meet
their regulatory and EHS management needs. Baxter
has also been able to leverage the data collection,
reporting and analysis capabilities of this system,
and become one of the first companies to issue a
sustainability report using GRI guidelines.
Also, in 1999, when Baxter decided to outsource all
programming and maintenance of its EHS information
management systems offshore, key TGI team members
also facilitated the identification and creation of
appropriate offshore development resources, and
coordinated the transition of all application
development to the offshore development firm."
